Single Sign-On (SSO)

What is SSO?

Single sign-on (SSO) lets you use one login (username and password) to access multiple applications. Imagine a key that unlocks several doors in your building. SSO works in a similar way, but for software programs.

Enabling SSO for Your Organization

If your organization wants to use SSO with Inspectorio, you'll need to contact them. Here's the process:

  1. Contact Inspectorio: Reach out to your Customer Success Manager or email [email protected].
  2. Integration Steps: Inspectorio will guide you through integrating your Identity Provider (IdP) with their system. Here's a simplified overview:
    • Inspectorio creates a separate test environment to avoid impacting your current setup.
    • You create a test user in your IdP and share the email address with Inspectorio.
    • Inspectorio invites the test user to the testing environment.
    • Inspectorio provides a file to configure your IdP to recognize their application.
    • You import the file into your IdP, configure it, and send it back to Inspectorio.
    • Inspectorio sets up the test environment with your IdP configuration.
    • You test SSO by logging in to the test environment with the test user email.
      • If successful, you'll be redirected to your IdP to log in, then back to Inspectorio where you'll be automatically logged in.
    • Let Inspectorio know the results of your test.
    • If there are any issues, Inspectorio will troubleshoot and repeat the testing process.

Important Note: This guide provides a simplified overview. The actual steps may vary depending on your specific IdP configuration.
